Enhancing Healing Environment and Sustainable Finishing Materials in Healthcare Buildings

چکیده

This research developed an assessment tool for enhancing the healing environment in healthcare buildings, especially interior finishing materials, based on sustainability standards, i.e., Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards WELL building standards. The purpose of this is to help decision-makers, designers, client committees identify compatible materials’ specifications with non-infection order create a better experience patient, staff, visitors. current study adopts sustainability-oriented approach bring more objectivity assessing architectural finish at projects through case King Faisal University’s (KFU) hospital project 182,000 m2 built area. Following consensus different experts, integrated two main international standards: LEED addition chromotherapy method. assesses which affect buildings. Each standard has credits, including items scores each item. was adopted KFU Hospital project, gained high acceptance among all stakeholders, decision-makers. instrument (based method) assessment; instead using tools materials supports stakeholders analyzing material achieve optimum sustainability.
